Does anyone know where the easiest and est place for information about health and saftey requirements and insurance for catering?
I used to bake for our weekly village sales (half profit to village half to me) and it was fun and easy and my food was very popular. (up to six years ago) and I have always been asked by friends and friends of friends to bake for occasions, which I have one as gifts or for the cost of ingredients. Last year my baking raised tremendous amounts for our village fete with people bdding up to £25 for a norml cake:rolleyes: and paying £4.50 for a brownie.
This weekend just passed I baked, as a gift a birthday cake/dessert for a very smart party and the person for whom it was a gift has just come over and said that every single person there wanted to know how much I would charge to bake cakes for them and what my business was called
.
I'm wonderig seriously if I could do this or abit of pocket money and if the hoops to jump through would be worth it.

Hi there,
I think you could do very well, i would maybe contact your local council or possible some insurace companies they would both put you in the right direction. I know basic food hygiene is a must and it really doesnt cost that much to do. Best of luck in your new venture also if you could send me a cake to try he he he .
