I have had a bailiff call me on behalf of powergen chasing payment for electricity used where my ex-husband lives. I left in November 2005 but unfortunately I am unable to take my name off the tenency as there is £400 arrears on rent. What other way can I prove that I have not lived there since November 2005? Please help!!

I would guess when you moved out you moved in somewhere else. can't you produce a bankstatement or bill for that time to prove you live elsewhere.MF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/20000

do you have a tenancy agreement for the property you moved to? Did you change your passport / driving licence / sign up for other domestic bills? The debt will be a joint debt up to the date you can prove you left the property. Anything after that date would not be yours0

I had to move out quick and stopped with some friends for about 6 months, to pay for my lodgings I helped out at their hair salon. I did go to try and get job seekers or something like that but was unsuccessful, I have emailed DWP to see if they can help but I've heard nothing back. It came totally out of the blue and I'm just really worried that I'll get stuck with this.0
