E-on's lousy customer service

Options
i am so angry at the moment.......

with all the hype about switching fuel suppliers, i arranged for my brother to switch electricity suppliers as he has learning difficulties, and i sort all his finances etc out, so i changed his supplier from n-power to e-on, as they were the cheapest option for him at the mo

he was switched over at the beginning of May, and was told he would have to have a new meter installed as the original one was too old

engineer was due today to change the meter, however, when he turned up he never mentioned changing the meter , he said he was here to disconnect the electric due to non-payment of bills. i refused him entry to my brother's house, and yes, i was polite about it. i just said i would like to ring e-on and find out what was going on. the engineer was ok about it, and said he would wait outside for 5 mins while i rang them

i was on the phone to e-on for 37 minutes altogether while the bloke on the other end of the phone ran around asking his supervisors what he should do! in the meantime the engineer left, and said he would have to write on his report that entry had been refused, and that my brother should expect a court proceedings letter thru the post

when the e-on man finally came back to the phone to talk to me, all he said was " oh it looks like somebody pressed the wrong button on their computer, and instead of having the meter changed over, it was to have the supply disconnected due to non-payment"

he DID apologise, but i don't think that's good enough. i told him i thought e-on's actions were disgusting, and when i tried to explain how upset and confused my poor brother was, he just said "sorry, its just unfortunate"

so now i want some advice please......who would i write to, to complain, and what sort of thing would you put in the letter? my brother has convinced himself he's going to prison, as he doesn't really understand, and its taken me all morning to calm him down

i'm sorry for such a long post, but my blood is boiling at the moment.

  • What exactly is the relevance of your brothers disability

They made a simple mistake, you called, they sorted it

i am trying to get across how much this has upset my brother. you obviously have no compassion for people with disabilities, not that you had any need to comment on that. i was only asking for some advice....and NO it wasn't sorted out by the man on the phone

i only came on here to see if anyone could give me some pointers on how to go about complaining
  • What exactly did you want this guy to do? He apologized. He must have sorted it out after figuring out the mistake. There's no way they would have left it, they would have sorted the problem. People make mistakes. It happens. Get over it and move on.

Was it a freephone number? If not, I hope that they are reimbursing you for the phonecall? 37 minutes? sheesh - I'm a customer of theirs, I hope I don't ever need to call them!

Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."

But your brothers disability has no relevence hear at all

A Mistake was made, they discovered the mistake and sorted it

This is just typical of the compensation culture in this company, what actual affect did this have ? 1) a phone call

what are you entitled too at most 1) Reimbursement of phone call

Instead you try and go for a sympathy vote and bring up an irrelevent disability to do so
