Hi - I wondered if anyone had any good budget ideas for my daughter's 16th bd coming up next week? There'll be around 10 girls and my budget is no more than £100.
I'm happy for them all to come to our house and leave them on their own for the day but need some good ideas about a theme/decorating the house etc.
I could also cash in some of my clubcard vouchers.
Thanks a bunch!
Karen

Are you on a budget for the girls to come round, or for your daughters present?
If your on a budget for them to come round - i would suggest the following
Take them out, bowling then a meal?
Treat them to a meal
Sleep over ... but make it something exciting
Thats all i can think of sorry. My 16th was boring.
Sorry its not much help. I hope you all have a great time xx0 -
A sleepover (or daytime visit) with several chick flick DVDs, pizza, popcorn, chocolate, selection of nail varnishes (and lots of remover!) for them to do their nails...
For decoration you could just do balloons and a Happy Birthday banner. Ohhh and party poppers!!! If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -
Why don't they a pamper party with all the trimmings of make up facials, massages and nails hair etc.0

My DD had a party for 10 last weekend, her theme was 'retro party'. Not so much a timeline party but retro games that she played when she was little. Games like pass the parcel, musical statues, blind man's make-Up (slightly updated), truth or dare, feel the object etc.... oh and a pinata.
I wasn't sure how it would go down with them now being older, but the screams of laughter for several hours proved she was right!:T
The costs were small too, only £45 for the whole event.0 -
No - presents are extra
I can't complain though - my daughter's already admitted she's got everything she wants - (I promise you she's not been spoiled) so I'm just going to buy her a few bits and bobs - I won't say what in case she reads this message!
Bowling, then a meal is a good idea & I shall present it as one of the optionsThanks for your suggestion - Karen

Every teenage girl wants a big party, and a 16th birthday is a perfect time!
move big items of furniture to create a dance floor, get a gazebo up in the backgarden, download some music you can dance to, cover up all furniture so not to get ruined. Make some food, or have a barbeque in the backgarden, hide all valueble objects. Invite as many people as possible obviously including boys. Alcohol? If not energy drinks. Get parents to leave for the night, let everyone stay at your house and make sure the house is tidy before your parents return the next morning. You could even add a theme, like hollywood, or disney charactors.
Alternatively, i've heard of a theatre based company called Footlights who run birthday parties. Two workers will come to your house in character, for example you could have a high school musical themed party and the workers woud come as Gabriella and Troy. It's reasonably priced and seems to go down a treat.
You could stick to the boring party idea's like bowling or going for a meal but i like the first idea, it's cheap and gives your daughter freedom.

Hi Peachy - I like the suggestion of Footlights - but it'll have to be for the 17th bd party now - her 16th was last June!
My daughter really enjoyed her 16th & said it was the best one she'd been toShe had her girlfriends round for the day (we went out). She did a "Sugar n Spice" theme & decorated the house accordingly. We'd prepared lots of spicy and of course sweet food & they all had lots of fun with the chocolate fountain. They went to the beach for a while, saw a film, played music in the garden with the gazebo up etc. and just enjoyed being by themselves for the day. She did themed party bags as well but it worked out to be a really cheap bd for us.
I think she's planning something quite different for the 17th mind you...
Best wishes
