Bankruptcy Petition received - please help

Hello,

I really hope you can help me, I have been a lurker on these forums for ages but now I could really do with some advice.

I have received a bankruptcy petition at my local court in just over a months time.

I had been getting letters from the dca who bought the debt from rbs, its for just over 3000. I just want to know what I can do, I did receive a stat demand but as it was sent through normal post my friend (who I now know I shouldnt have listened to!) advised me to ignore it as if they were serious they would have sent it recorded delivery. But obviously now they are serious, and i just need some help in what I should do now.

I know its my fault for ignoring this letter, but please can you help me.
