Help with a letter please....

After going bankrupt my joint overdrafts with Hubby have been passed to DCA. I have been contacted by Debt managemenet and recovery services. I expected it to be passed to a dca so when we got the first letter I responded and offered token payments. I recived the standard please call us letter.

However I have just recived a statment from abbey and have no letter stating the debt has been passed to this company. So was thinking I would write a stuff off I dont belive you own the debt letter can anyone help so far I have

"I write to acknowledge your recent message asking me to telephone you regarding my bank account.
I have recently received a statement from abbey and have had no correspondence to inform me that you are holding any debt therefore until I receive this I do not acknowledge any debt to your company.
In view of my circumstances, I withdraw my token offer request you supply me with proof of this debt.

I refer to my letter dated 09/05/08 and I formally request all future communications to be made in writing. I do not feel able to discuss this matter on the telephone as I find this stressful – please remove any telephone numbers you hold for me from your systems. I require all future communications in writing for my records. Please do not reply by asking me to telephone you as I am unable to do this.

What else should it say? Should I send it or is there a better way to approach this- all comments welcome- thanks

It was a joint debt so my husband is now liable for the debt.

with joint debt when one person becomes BR then 100% of the debt passes to the co signer/joint debtor.

there is a letter kicking about possible via national debt line that covers such events. I'll try dig it out for you

ETA I notice that you have been given the letter i was talking about on the BR board.
