Problems with not meeting reduced payments and dealing with MBNA

ON MY PREVIOUS THREAD I explained how due to serious illness of my daughter my income has been reduced and I cannot meet the monthly payments I have set up with the cc companies.
I am wondering what you think of this email.MBNA HAVE STARTED TO EMAIL ME and due to hasstle I forwarded them a payment for £20.Previous to that my reduced payment was £39.:
I’m sorry to hear you are in difficulty Ms..... We may be able to put you on reduced payments again, but we will need a new copy of your Financial Statement, so all your Income and Expenditure per month. Unfortunately £20 is not quite enough for a Reduced Payment Arrangement. We would need at least £39.
Another option available would be a Partial Settlement. Your balance is £4587.11, but if you are able to raise £1800.00, we can clear the balance and register the debt as Partially Settled on your credit file. You will not have to pay any more back, and no further action will be taken. Now, I realise this is a large amount of money to get your hands on in a small space of time, but if you are able to pay another £16 on top of the £20 sent today, this will buy you until the end of June to get the money to us. If you need another month, try to pay £38 next month and we will keep the option open for you until you manage to raise it.
Unfortunately, as your account is 7months behind this month, we will have to sell this debt on Friday to a Collection Agent, so the option will be terminated, so if you think you can manage one of these options, let me know ASAP, so that I can keep hold of the account, and keep them open for you.
Thanks in Advance.
If I had that sort of money it would be tempting to pay!_but there is no way I can find it.Also I am not now paying the other CC what I owe and have just cancelled the payment through to EGG which is around £100.
If I was to send these companies a token payment until I get something sorted out with CCCS whaT would be acceptable?-£5 each and obviouisly explain the change of circumstances?
I dont want to be passed into the hands of a debt collection agency although this has happened on a couple of small accounts with catelogues.
It would not be fair to pay them more than anyone else though would it?

Hi honeybee, yes I think that you should just send a token payment to creditors even if it's just £1 (this is the minimum) and then sort something out with CCCS.
They're just trying to get more money out of you and at the end of the day you can't afford it so definitely speak to one of the debt charitiesMoney doesn't make you happy so I'm skint but cheerful :beer:0 -
Dear Honeybee,
I was told today by National debtline that often after the debt goes to debt collection agencies they will accept the payments you offer opposed to the
c c companies. Don't fall for the 'you must pay us more line' as it is just one of their tactics to put on pressure. I was told if I was to go for a DMP then I may have to request the said payments more than once and keep on. Some creditors may not agree but they would much prefer to get some of debt back than none!
I wish you good luck but you must remain strong.

They cannot get blood out of a stone. Keep strong and adament, stick to your offer and they will most likely eventually accept it.Thinking it over...:o0

If they do sell it on , it may not be all bad. A DCA would only pay considerably less than the settlement figure they offered you . Also why would they sell it ? Have they lost the CCA ? When you hear from the DCA , REMEMBER NO PHONE CALLS, write and offer only what you can afford or go the CCA request route . good luck0
