I calculate it even ... how sad.
I count it down as money I'd have lost if I didn't sell last year and interest gained on savings.

    It's like a hobby ... for a loser. I think.

Have you considered not leveraging yourself on the purchases you haven't made and not buying a couple of BTL's for your pension?

    You'd save an absolute fortune.

Hmmm, think I'll be round the banks tomorrow asking for the £10k they wouldn't lose as I won't default on mortgages I don't have with them.... (this could get complicated).

Bit academic as we've only been in any sort of position to buy a house in the past year.

But yes, I wish I'd bought a ten bedroom house in 1972.

I'd take the 270k at peak.

And in 2035, you'll wish you'd bought one in 2008!

Yes, very sad, but also it may prove to be good financially, but also maybe not.

You could change your signature to incluse what you sold for, what the selling costs were, what rent you have paid, what buying costs you will incur and what interest you have accumulated from the house sale

It will give you very good reading when you buy again.

In 2035 you'd wish even more that you bought in 2011........... probably :p
