Hi
Ive applied for C&G Mortgage through London Country.
When I completed the application form, the only thing that they required was my passport and a utility type bill for address evidence, plus cheque for setup etc. Which i posted last thursday, getting my passport back on Monday
Having spoken to them today they are now going to instruct valuation,
Just wondered what was next and how long things would take?
But why havent they asked for wage slips, bank statements etc?? The last time which was also the first they wanted loads of stuff
How do they know im not lieing dont they have to check?
Cheers

C&G are usually pretty tight on this sort of thing unless you are putting down a high % deposit. They might do a valuation and then try to tie up all the paperwork, which is when you will get asked for wage slips etc to confirm whats in your application.
With my C&G mortgage I only had an offer in principal until the valuation and final checks went through. It sounds like thats the stage you are at now.

Sorry to disagree with the previous post, but it is unlikely that they will ask you for the additional paperwork if they haven't asked for it now.
They use their "Computer says no" (or yes) to assess risk of each case.
If the credit score is good enough and they are happy with the deposit available, they can effectively "fast-track" the application and not bother checking the income. They do this on the basis that they don't expect people to lie about their income because they don't set their stall out that you will self-certify in the first place. Therefore, you are unlikely to risk wasting your own time and money in case they do ask for income.I am a Mortgage Adviser

Now that C&G have contacted estate agent to arrange for valuer to visit.
How long will it be before I know if ive actually got the mortgage. Or should I say when will money be ready so that I can move.
Just that the property we are buying, was a partexchange to a property company, and they are able to transact asap
