Interesting website cruisemad, I used to run a Dress Agency and still have stacks of designer clothes hardly worn
Worth checking out yellow pages nearlyrich to see if there is a dress agency near you.0 -
Thanks for all the ideas, there are one or two dress agencies in the area, I will check them out, trip to france sounds like a fun idea, the website looks interesting and ebay too...
I will let you all know how I get on.:beer:0 -
How about a look on Ebay?"This site is addictive!"
Wooligan 2 squares for smoky - 3 squares for HTA

Also, some Debenhams branches have a clearance section tucked away somewhere - ours is on the top floor and always has lots of dressy stuff - have had some real Designers at Debenhams bargains from there. If you had a session with a personal shopper to get an idea of what you want, then you could have a look around the clearance section / TKMaxx etc to see if you can get something a bit cheaper.£2 savers club - £62
Relaunched grocery challenge:
March target: £150 on food, £50 on other stuff - still not doing very well at keeping track...

If you can get to Cheshire Oaks in Ellesmere Port head to Monsoon, they have loads and loads of ballgowns and bridesmaids dresses all at cut down prices, I go in there and try one on every now and then just to make me feel like a princess!
They range in prices but usually u can get them at about 50% of the original, some more some less.
They really are lovely dresses and they do wraps, shawls, bags, shoes, jewellary etc to match!
Good luck and have a lovely time!

:j Just back from a shopping spree in Debenams at the Trafford Centre with my spoils....
I got a full length peacock blue dress bias cut with a cowl neck and silver diamante buckles on the straps, a little shiney shrug, black strappy sandals, a matching bag and of course the correct underwear to hold it all in LOL.;)
My feet are killing me and I'm skint again but I am really happy with it and I can't wait for my posh do in November to show it off. Thanks again for all the suggestions :A0 -
Well done, nearlyrich! Hope you have a wonderful time at the "do"[0

You're in E Lancashire .. where's the nearest "posh" place to live? Get yourself down there and look in the Charity Shops. Those that have plenty of money to squander on these these things tend to offload them to the charity shops e.g. Altrincham, Harrogate, Chester (yes, I know these might not be local to you) ....
Charity Shops in "posh" localities are well known for stocking designer/desirable gear at knock down prices. Imagine a charity shop in Knightsbridge ... where do you think their stuff comes from ??Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0 -
nearlyrich,
I'm glad that you got your dress sorted out. Have a great time.
