Hi all. was wondering if it is wise to keep a mortgage (small 10kish) for credit reasons or to be mortgage free....?

Do you want to apply for credit in the near future? On balance I would be paying your mortgage off.
In some circumstances it is better to leave a £1 balance on your mortgage, effectively using your lender as a free deeds storage facility, and avoiding paying their redemption admin fees. e.g. Northern Rock - this is done alot with them.0 -
