I know it's only a fiver, but i'm tight. apologies if already posted, or if this should be elsewhere.
But, if you open a green bank account with HSBC then they credit your account with £5. I just opened a basic account a couple of weeks ago, not sure why i will need it but a fiver is a fiver (see, i really am tight, what can i say!) got to be done by the end of may.
I dare say there's better offers out there so feel free to tear me to shreads for opening a bank account i don't need.. but the form was only a 5 minute job. I also didn't go through quidco, but can you do that too for an extra £20? (buggar!)
kill five mins... earn a fiver (or more)

Hi
Do you have a link, went through Quidco and couldn't find either the basic account or the saver as mentioned above
Thank you :beer:0 -
Neither can be tracked. Rubbish Quidco0

If you type HSBC into the search box, you get the following:
Bank account - £20
Credit Card - £25
Bank account plus - £50
Didn't see anything about savings, although they offer an extra £20 cashback if you upgrade from a regular bank account to a bank account plus in May. The extra £5 is awarded for the "go green with bank account" which is opting out of paper statements/letters etc in favour of email/telephone calls.

I can say whatever I like here ... 'cos no one can see me .. ner ner ner ner ner !!!....How do you know I ain't sitting here butt naked?!?!I thunk I've made you think for a minute!:j :rotfl: :j0 -
Avoid quidco if you can.
I've had about £400 of genuine transactions through them in the last year, and have received less than £100.
Half the time they don't even track the transaction. When I submit an enquiry they say it's succesful and they've received the money but they just keep putting off sending it to me.
They used to be great, but I think they're pocketing the money now and saying they haven't received it.
I'd go elsewhere.0 -
I can't say I've had a problem with Quidco - it seems to be some of companies that they deal with that's the problem. I've only had one that didn't track, so I emailed them and it was sorted and paid within a few weeks.Quidco Earnings (since Dec 06): £467.750

quidco are pretty bad. I signed up to pkr.com, said it had tracked and then just disappeared one day (showed as £0.00) I think it was around £50.
I will look into using a different cash back site too.Hating Hastings Direct!0 -
Yes, Quidco have been fairly unreliable for me too, I'd say about a 30-50% cashback rate. Reliable ones are TopCashback and RPoints in my experience. When I got to apply it says (on HSBC site) "do you have your regular income or salary paid into your bank?"
Well yes, but I have no intention of changing to HSBC - I'm happy at Halifax. I only want the bank account for the cashback and the resukting ISA
So where do I stand with regards to the account and the cashback situation
Oh and as a quick aside - SuperDad, how many competitions did you have to enter to win that lovely bundle. I went through a phase but gave up after a whileWycombe Till I Die0 -
just radio competitions mate.. won the £10k and car within 24 hours (2 rival stations running big comp at same time, I won 1 the Mrs won the other)... the rest just happened out of obsession. instead of having the tv on stick the radio on. It pays to listen!Hating Hastings Direct!0
