I've done that too, but I get bored of the plain taste and like a bit of flavour from time to time. I've thought about flavouring it myself, but I don't like bits of fruit (nasty seedy bits with strawberry - for example!!!!)
You can buy the squeezy tubes of Easiyo fruit flavours to flavour it, there's raspberry, strawberry, mixed berries and passion fruit. Sure there's more but these were just the ones my Lakeland had.

    Or even icecream sauces!!! :D

Maybe it's just a south west thing because the Julian Graves around here only seem to stock about 1 flavour if you are lucky! I don't go into town very much as I prefer to shop online as I don't spend as much!

I love the idea about using the milkshake flavouring stuff! I'll have to have a look into that.

i've seen them on lakeland. i use honey, or golden syrup. or sometimes milkshake powder, or a fruit puree (sieved to remove pips) to flavour and just use a tablespoon of the last batch mixed with uht and some milk powder. yummy! otherwise it's served with chopped fruit to add flavour (i find it useful to have plain yoghurt so i can use it in cooking too, strawberry yoghurt doesn't sit well with curry!

I use jam melted with a little lemon juice, sometimes with frozen raspberries added (they melt by lunchtime if I take them to work) as one of the variations.
I also tried pureeing peach (tinned juice drained) with raspberries which is nice too. It could be seived to avoid the pips, or use jam again.
I also do a vanilla (essence + a little sweetener or honey) and roasted chopped nuts, which is lovely. I've even added a dab of Nutella or chocolate sauce.
    somewhere between Heaven and Woolworth's

I hope they aren't discontinuing it as I've just shelled out for a new EasiYo maker from Lakeland. Mind, I am planning on having a go at the DIY stuff but want EasiYo as a backup in case it is horrid!

Note to self: have more faith in my abilities

  • I have just recently started using the Easiyo yoghurt maker and would love to have the recipe to try making from a natural yoghurt as we are getting through loads!

  • Any chance of sharing your alternative receipe? How would you rate the taste of making it from a pot of bio yoghurt? I recall my mother making it for us as children using six individual pots and saving one each time to be the base for making the next batch... very cost efficient! Could I use semi-skimmed milk rather than UHT as I'm not a fan of the UHT flavour?
I've got the easiyo yoghurt maker but don't use the sachets, I just use UHT milk, dried milk (3 tsps) and a pot of bio yoghurt as my starter. I find it soooo much cheaper than easiyo but just as easy.

Yes Lakeland have them, also my local Health store in the market will order them in for me when I ask, so it may be worth making friends with your local independant health store if you have one!
