joint loan applications - once been refused as a single application
just a quick question.
My husband has lived in Uk for 3 years and has recently applied for a loan of £7500 - which has been refused. He has excellent credit rating, has 3 credit cards which he always pays up at the end of each month (which he done to give him a good credit rating), his salary isnt brilliant but he doesn have any other debts, and even the bank Lloyd TSB cant understand why he was refused (hes defo on the electra roll etc)
Im willing to go on a joint application if it means he is more likely to be accepted. My salary is more than his, I now have NO debts or credit cards but dont have a great credit rating (i had CCj's in the past which were both paid off and are now no longer on my credit history - i checked with expedia)
Is it worth applying as a couple? our basic joint income would stand at £35,000 for the year plus commision.
any help would be great
thanks

If your CCJ's have fallen off now then yes, I would definitely. If you had a bad credit rating then you could well being him down. On the strength of what you have said, you will only offer meat to the tableLBM - 30/07/09
Started DMP in Oct 2009, went wrong. Due to start new DMP in March/April 2013. Bring it on!

has he obtained copies of his credit files to see exactly what they say?
i would think it unwise to link yourselves together until you understand why he is being turned down. otherwise you will both suffer the same problems.
why is he so desperate to reduce his standard of living by paying lots of interest to banks anyway?0 -

His credit rating shows as top notch thats what we cant understand, originallt thought it was cause we;'d moved house and hadnt registered on electra roll unknown to ourselves so done that and still refused, even manager at bank TSB said that he couldnt understand it?0 -
has he actually obtained copies of all three credit files and read what they say?... just in case one has something odd?0
