For reasons I don't want to go into it looks like my only option is to go onto some sort of DMP with all the people that I owe money to. (I've been onto the CCCS website and this was one of their suggestions).
However would OH's salary be taken into account when calculating the available income, even though it was only me that was going onto the plan? If not then would I only quote half the household expenses?
Also would he have to know? (We are not connected financially as we have no joint financial products)
Finally, is it better to negiotate directly with the cc companies (they are cahoot, egg, marbles and goldfish) or do I go to CCCS?

I also meant to ask is it better to start making the reduced payments now or to wait until they have agreed to the plan?2014 Target;

Hi I don't think that your OH needs to know or be involved in your DMP. CCCS normally suggest that you stop paying your unsecured creditors and make token payments until the DMP is set up. CCCS will send you out a pack that includes a letter to send to your creditors, once you've had your telephone interview with them. It only took a month for my DMP to be set up so I only needed to send token payments for a month. Give CCCS a ring today and discuss it further with them.
Good luck.Debt 30k in 2008.:eek::o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free

I didnt include my OH's income on my DMP as the debts are mine and we have no joint accounts or anything. on my I and E sheet I put in what I pay towards bill etc roughly half of our outgoings.0

Thanks guys
I did speak to someone at CCCS today (I wish I had done that years ago) and have said what you have said here.
Will contact all my creditors over the weekend....gosh this is so scary but I know its the right thing to do.
For the first time in weeks I actually did some work today concentrating on what I was supposed to be doing rather than doing it thinking of my situation.2014 Target;

your OH may not NEED to know but its probably better if they do.
In practice it may be difficult to keep it secret (lots of mail, phone calls etc ) but also issues of trust.
Think very carefully about what would happen if they found out by accident.0 -
Agreed first person you should have talked to was O/H .0
