Ok just testing the multi quote. Thanks for mentioning the ctlr + c option as I can paste normally ( mouse ) but not copy by clicking the mouse.

Went to see the new Liverpool one today and of course to do some Bootsing.
Loads of reduced S&G , Sanctuary Lomi and Sento ranges and Natural Collection stuff in the smaller Boots near the original H&M .Was so tired trying to keep track of my teenager and my tweenie (that's what they were calling the ones not quite a teenager isn't it?) in the huge 4 floor Primark that too exhausted to buy much. Used points for the 3 tube S&G lip plumper thing £7.50 plus free bag twice , they were displayed with the same items full price and identical so not sure why they are reduced. They cross out the bar codes in Liverpool though. Loads of essential stuff reduced to £1 as well . Very tempted by Sanctuary stuff and the Lemon s&G body butter but forgot about £3 off Sanctuary voucher and it is so heavy anyway. Could I have got more than one bag per item with them being originally £17.50? Theres another Boots I think on the road leading up to the town Hall is that any good for bargains. Never got there wish I'd insisted when we got out of the train now.Must go and soak my weary feet now.
Could't find my bearings whilst in Liverpool one complex.

Hi Twig, the Boots you were in had the most reductions so you did not miss out. The small one near the town hall, had no reductions except on the sandwiches :rotfl:

Re the S&G lip plumpers, I queried why the same items had 2 different prices, but the reduction was based on the shades of the glosses. Packaging was the same, but different contents.

The £17.50 Sanctuary (Grey hatbox) wasn't reduced, I checked, was also told there was no plans to reduce it neither. The biggest branch of the 3 city centre stores is in the opposite end of the city from the Town hall, but they had few reductions. I visited all 3 today, and you were in the best store for the bargains, so you chose well. Hope you bought something for aching feet while you were there;) . HTH

It's been great reading all the posts, have managed to keep up tonight, all this talk of bargains I think;)

Didn't AB (? - Ruby and Passion8's SA) explain Boots rules on reductions? I was trying to find his post earlier, but failed! He definitely gave a brief reason as to why he thought some stores reduce and some don't, but I can't remember - something to do with the size of the store, whether they have the space for the range, whether they have a call for the range?

Sorry - can't be more specific - hope he can fill us in again if he comes back

Can't find it either blodwin  Only found this that relates to stock, #1715 but I might have overlooked it

Edit: I recall him editing a post, and it was about what you mentioned.

I was planning on getting the No7 and Med GWPs but looks like that won't be happening now.... been signed off work due to bleeding in pregnancy until my 12wk scan - so 4wks off work and Im not sure all of it is paid (Something about percentages etc  ) :-( Typical

You really need to listen to the doctos and take it easy, nothing is more precious than your baby. :A Take care. Boots is going nowhere. Get OH/family to stock up on mags, put your feet up and rest.:lovethoug

There are blanket reductions across all stores, then there are layered reductions where a store will be put into one category of reductions for that item, that is based on how the product sold recently.

For instance with the photo albums if they sell great in store A they will remain full price, sell ok in store B then they will be reduced by 30%, hardly sell in store C then they will be reduced by 50-70% and if have very limited sales they will be reduced by 90% or more.

I noticed recently on the last thread there was a question regarding the fluctuation of no7 items. There are 28 stores where certain lines are sold for a higher price. This is simply and perhaps not fairly, because those flagship stores can basically sell those items for more.

Also I have seen a few posts about website/store price differences. This is due to boots.com being a seperate company. Again perhaps not fairly, if it is felt that an item can be easily sold for a higher price it will be. However, one advantage is that many of the 50-75% reductions will not apply in store.

Hope that helps clarify a few things
