Just wanted to say a general thanks to all who find the glitches/bargains and post their finds and recommendations. I'm afraid most of the time I am a lurker
sorry. I try and have a quick read in my lunch time at work (after nipping to Boots of course!) and then last thing at night after chores etc. By the time I finish catching up it is time for bed. Takes me ages to get there now too with all my Boots lotions & potions to put on!
Love reading the thread and looking in my cupboard at all my Boots booty. This thread should have a health warning on front page though because it is definitely addictive. When I started reading I used to wonder why people bought so much:eek: but now I am getting just as bad and the cupboard is almost full!
Never mind shopping lists, I think a stock check might be more in order and a list of just how much I already have so I can see whether I really need any more!
Thank you all anyway. This Bootsing lark is great fun:T and I think you are all :A ."Go placidly amid the noise and haste and remember what peace there may be in silence": Desiderata0 -
I think it was Passion8 on last thread who asked about Gift Experiences in store. In my local today they had:
Child Portrait, Family Portrait, Pamper Day, Theatre break, RHS Flower Show, Nutritional Mind & Body Gift, Magazine Subscription, Rally, Quad Biking, Ferrari/Porsche, Paintball, White Water, Wine Tasting, Ballooning and Horse Racing.
The cheapest was the Magazine Subscription which I think was about £40 odd. Actually leaflet says Paintballing for Two is £30 "prices valid until 31 July 2008".
Picked up the Activity Superstore leaflet which says: 20 gift experiences to choose from

You asked about this on the last thread. Sorry I don't know how to quote from a previous thread.
I just handed over coupon from Health Club Mailing at the Pharmacy Counter. SA knew what it was but did say there had been problems. She scanned the Smart Card and then my coupon and it came up as 0.00. She frowned and said she didn't know why it was doing that but she gave me Smart Card. I didn't think nothing to pay was a problem!:rotfl:
Only thing was that although I offered her my Ad Card she didn't use it and did that transaction first and separately to the basket of shopping I had.
She did give me the receipt though which showed I had missed £4.00 in points and luckily I checked as I was leaving store and rushed back to get them put on by same SA who frowned a bit and said she'd have to tell the manager about this. I just said I know it's mad on a nil spend but it'll bug me if I miss out on the points!
On the Smart Card it says "Save 10% with every use of this card. This card comes pre-loaded with one free vend. It retains an updated record of your last 10 weight readings which print on to your ticket."
SA did say that when lady bought one previously she had only got one free scan from machine but according to the card that is all you are meant to get and then you get a 10% discount after that.
No way they should charge you £12 for the card though which is I think what you said they had tried to do to you.

Wasn't convinced she knew what she was talking about . Will give it another try at another shop. So are you supposed to put the card in the weighing machine then every time you pay and it gives you the discount when you pay and records the data on the smart card is that the smart bit. I think she assumed you were prepaying the weighings.
Probably better to try this with some other shopping then maybe in the middle of a transaction then so they don't necessrily notice the points or the freeness.
Thanks for the reply. I didn't know how to quote from the previous thread either so thought wouldn't get answer.0 -

Thank you so much for rememberingI checked a store yesterday, but it was as I thought - the same experiences scattered about randomly to make it look like there were more lol. I passed on them all - some were too exciting, and some were too sedate
but thanks again for looking.

Yes, I think the bit I've bolded up above is exactly how it works.
I think you will have to get this card at Pharmacy Counter though because I'm sure they keep it there, never seen it on the shelves anywhere.
Good luck with getting it anyway. I'd get it sharpish in case they realise there is a glitch! Make sure they use your Ad Card too."Go placidly amid the noise and haste and remember what peace there may be in silence": Desiderata0 -
One last post, then I'll go back to lurking!
I think on last thread Broclo asked what No7 Body Polish is like. I use this and like it, fairly gentle but feels like it is exfoliating gently - it does say it is gentle enough that you can use use daily. Doesn't froth up much but don't think these products do generally anyway. Only thing is that tbh you could probably get same effect with cheaper products but if you want something to put towards GWP and there is the bathing points from ACM too then go for it!"Go placidly amid the noise and haste and remember what peace there may be in silence": Desiderata0 -
