Can't really understand why people keep recommending an IFA to a poster who's clear desperate for money, when it's quite easy to organise this yourself.

This is supposed to be a moneysaving site after all.
    Trying to keep it simple...;)

Just because he's desperate for money doesn't mean he should dive into something which he clearly has no knowledge of.
  • I cant understand why when told many many times that a transfer of retained benefits from an occupational pension scheme will only be accepted by a personal pension provider if it has been signed off by an IFA continually thinks it can be done without one as if it were some flatpack self assembly cardboard box., Unless that person like Danny Crane has madcow disease.

Been having far too many Big Mac's Ed?

I suggest the OP gets the transfer value and then asks a couple of SIPP providers if they will accept it first. Then, if they say they need an IFA sign-off , he can employ one.Otherwise he's paying thousands of pounds in fees for something he could quite easily do himself with a little effort.

manchesterlad, it's worth saying a bit more about your problems so the people here can consider whether there are other options that might be more suitable or might help until you can address the pension part.
