Fresh orange spilt on my slate hearth!

Options
I don't know if this is the right board to ask this so mods please could you move to the correct place if wrong, thanks.

My daughter spilt fresh orange on my black slate hearth and it has taken the colour out and has become a white patch. I have tried everything but nothing is working to restore it back to black.

Has anyone got any ideas how I can sort it out?

Thanks

Hi we have a slate hearth and about once a month i spray wd40 on it and wipe it with a dishcloth or similar. The WD40 gets rid of most marks, we had a similar white mark when someone split a glass of fizz on it at christmas and wd40 got rid of it after a few wipes, sounds odd but does work usually.

  • Oh thanks for that, I have WD40 in so I will try it now.

    Thanks
