Hi.... I was meant to be paid on the 20th as I have been for the past 5 years by the company who I work for, (I work for a council) On finding that I (and several others) hadnt contacted them and by 3.30pm that day only 65% of my wages had been paid in I am still awaiting the rest!!! My problem is that I am incurring bank charges as I speak as I am over my overdraft limit and the bank is very unsympathetic and will not increase it as I dont have a very good record and do not earn enough (in otherwords comoputer says no!!!) The council have said tht they will pay the charges once I have proof etc of how much I will be charged, but the fact is I want my money now what can I do without being fobbed off etc is there anything I can say to the council to spead them up?? Thanks for listening!!!!!

The Pay section should be able to issue with an emergency cheque tomorrow but it will take time to clear.
Are you sure that your timesheets went in on time?0 -
Hiya
Yes the timesheets went in on time but it was the whole dept that wasnt paid and it seems like Im the only person who is kicking up about it, I still haven received a cheque and this is a week later.0 -
Contact your HR department. Do you have a contract of employment? This is a legal promise to pay you on time - sounds like your employers have already admitted they have paid late. They should meet any bank charges which you accrue as a result of their mistake (or it may be their bank's mistake).
Make sure all correspondence is in writing, and keep copies.Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0
