Running trousers/trainers?

Ok so I'm doing the race for life next sunday, and desperately need a pair of trousers that I can run in (I only own jeans!). If possible I'd also like a pair of trainers, I do have a pair but they kind of hurt me...

Any ideas where the cheapest places to get these are? Cheaper the better. I live in Edinburgh.

Thanks!

For decent trainers you need to go into a sports shop and get advice from one of the sales assistants there and try lots on to see which is most comfortable. You need specific trainers for running/jogging, not just fashion trainers.

Any pair of jogging bottoms will do to run in :)

It's only for the race for life, I don't want to be spending tons on the thing. :(

M and M sports do good deals on trainers, but if it's too late for mail order Sports World (used to be Sports Soccer) is cheap. For the trousers, Aldi do running gear as part of their weekly specials so a local store might still have some stock. Not sure what your budget is, but M&S have sports/gym gear as part of their basics range and the bottoms are only £9.50.

Primark sell a pair of jogging bottoms that are the nice stretchy cotton kind. £3 I do believe :)

I hope you did not have to fork out too much for tommorrow. The course is only 5K right? You should be fine with any new pair of trainers.
