Need a loan quickly
I have just purchased a new car. I have agreed to pay the balance the car on Wednesday which will be when I collect it. I thought that it wouldn't be a problem to get a bank loan at such short notice which is why I agreed to this date.
It would appear as though the approval period however is quite lengthy, particularly with the banks offering favourable interest rates. Has anybody got any advice on how to get a loan quickly? Can I get a bridging loan from my bank if I need to (not sure if this only applies to houses)?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Brian

I think delays also occur with the need for you to sign the paperwork so postal paperwork especially with abank holiday will be a problem. I know i would be able to arrange a temporary overdraft with my bank manager for the level of an average car - not sure how much you need. I do have a long standing relationship with the local branch though - how well do you know yours? I dread to think of the rate though! I suppose it you can be sure its not for long it might be worth it.0

If your credit history is clean and you can show the bank that you can pass it's affordability criteria then you could phone your bank now (if it has a 24 hour service) to make an appointment either for Tuesday or Wednesday.
IMO don't let the telephony people arrange the loan for you as you will not be able to get the paperwork back in time.
The funds should be in your account immediately if you are approved in branch.0
