MATH wrote:Why do bread maker mauals make such a big hoo-haa about measuring the ingredients accurately
Some of us a using enough sugar to rot the teeth off a donkey and others and barely tossing in a few grains yet we are all tucking into wonderful, light, scrummy bread. Since I realized my bread book recipe is widely different to my manual recipe I've become a bit gung-ho chucking in the ingredients. Sometimes just to prove what a bohemian, unpredictable rebel I can be I throw off the recipe shackles and put the ingredients in in the wrong order:eek: It makes no difference as far as I can see.
And the old one said to put the water in first and the yeast on top, and the Panasonic is the other way round so as you say I can't see it makes any difference, although if it's on the timer you want to keep the water away from the yeast, is all.
I don't put any sugar in at all these days and my loaves are rising OK (apart from the porridge bread over which we are drawing a discreet veil). Going to cut the salt down next!Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
Hi I came home tonight and began measuring out the stuff to try paul_h recipe for Morphy Richards breadmaker and realised the blades were missing from the bread pans. After much deliberation with OH it seems that last lot of loaves I made were so awful they went straight into the bin with blades still inside them!
How much is the panasonic one you all reccomend so highly? :rolleyes:0 -
You should be able to get new blades from the manufacturer. I got mine replaced for less than £2 including p&p.Hi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there. I think people have been finding them for just under £80 at places like Currys and Comet and that includes free delivery. It depends which model you want, as one has the automatic nut/fruit/seed dispenser and the other one you just add them when you hear the beeps, and that one is around £10-£15 cheaper if I recall.
Edit: Cheapest I've found for you is at Curry's online at £76.98 inc free delivery! ... and they have some in stock! I've also been told that if you go into a store with a print-out of the web price that they will honour that price instore too so no need to wait for it to be delivered"An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"

Sorry, yes I should have said shouldn't I
The one with the auto dispenser is SD253, and the one without is SD252, but on checking earlier Curry's only stock the SD253 and I didn't check around for prices for the other, but I can if you would like"An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"
