I used one of these in my local Tesco today.
Initially the checkout assistant said we can't take this as it's for Morrisons, I said theres a large banner outside the store stating you do take them, so she scanned it. She didn't call a supervisor to check just took my word for it.
£5 off my shopping =

Took it in my local no problem.
Nearest Morrison store is approx 15 miles away.We seek a world in which everyone with HIV/AIDS can live an abundant lifeWant to join us?0 -
I seen that outside my local Tesco's today too, missed the whole thing though
I quite like Morrissons too... and go to Tesco everyday. Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.0 -
Didn't bother buying these as the Nearest Morrisons is 37 miles away and my store always argues the toss on thesse type of coupons. Was astounded today to see a poster outside proclaiming 'we take Morrisons spend and save.'
Won't get caught out on that one again.Blitzkreig Bob says Hi to those checking his validity!0 -

What a shame Paul. I bought lots of copies as I thought my locals should take them - and if not I was going to swap them on www.paidtoshop.co.uk. In my area I believe there are no Morrisons at all except for a tiny one about 15-20 miles away from the big Tesco. It's certainly not known as any competition for Tesco around here at all.
But both my locals are accepting these so far anyway, so I am happily using up my little stash myself. I'm guessing that HO (Cheshunt) have issued banners & info to all stores, whether or not there is a Morrisons nearby; I bet Tesco's Marketing Dept hated seeing their stores selling the Sun (& promoting Morrison's) last week!
BTW there are loads of the Morrison's coupons on ebay at the moment if you want to try to get a few for future weeks.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

does anyone have a photo of the tesco signage?
would be really helpful to have the image save to my phone as a back up if they decided to be fussy about taking it.0 -
saw the banner outside tesco, bank holiday monday, didn't have the coupon with me.went on tuesday, did the £30 plus shop, handed it at the till, wouldn't take it,took it to customer service who said she didn't know anything about it.she asked 2 others, they didn't know anything ,so i then had to go morrisons and spend another £31.not pleased.even rang manager who said, yes she knew about it,but it was only for the bank holiday weekend:mad:0

That's a terrible lie by a Duty Manager who hasn't a clue. These coupons are valid throughout June - do they really want you to shop in Morrisons in June instead of Tesco then?
I would type a letter explaining what happened, and asking the question I have just asked (shown above in bold). Surely the Store Manager will realise that the banner may have been a 'Bank Holiday thing' but acceptance of the coupons is long-term?
Take your letter in a blank envelope & go to CS desk & find out the name of the Store manager (not a Duty Manager). Write his/her name on the envelope & mark it 'private & confidential', ask them to give it to SM please. Keep a copy for yourself.
Then try your coupons again in Tesco, if you have more for the following week, carrying a copy of the letter you sent to the SM at all times. Show that letter if you get turned down again. They are wrong and it's to your cost, don't take it lying down.
Tesco has had a policy to accept conditional spend & save coupons from all major Supermarkets, for years. It's not a short-term policy it's a long-term one (banner or no banner, you really don't need it, there are no banners near me but the stores accept it).PRIVATE 'PCN'? Would I be able to use the voucher on a shop with lots of bogof's.
eg. could I get £30.00 worth of shopping that might cost about £15.00 when the till has been totalled, then use my voucher & pay just £10.00.
If so do I ask them to scan the voucher before totalling the till or doesn't it matter.
Thank you for any replies in advance0
