That very nice man at Sky was in generous mood today. You may also find this amazing deal that we have (obviously) accepted......
The conversation went something like this:
Me: I am phoning to cancel my Sky contract
Sky: Can you explain why?
Me: I am never at home to watch the programmes I like - so will make do with the free to air ones
Sky: Would you be interested in an offer we can make for Sky Plus?
Me: No not really, I wanted to cancel the contract
Sky: Well we can install it for free and provide you with all the necessary new dish, box etc. free of charge.
Me: What would be the benefit of this?
Sky: You would be able to watch programmes when convenient for you and not just when they are scheduled.
Me: Well OK I am interested. What will it really cost me?
Sky: Nothing at all - I will just schedule an installation - now would next Saturday morning be OK with you?
Me: Yes - but what will we do with our old Sky receiver?
Sky: You can have it installed in another room if you wish - then you can use it with all the free to air channels. You can have up to 4 other Sky boxes attached to your new dish.
Me: That sounds great
Sky: Thanks for staying with Sky - and for staying loyal we will credit your account with £30
Me: Thanks for your generosity.
So can't be bad - Free Sky Plus AND £30 credit into the account.
I wonder if anyone else can get this deal??????
 Cheers:beer:

what number did you call ?0

I called the number on the viewing card then went through the voicemail system to cancel the contract. I suppose that call would also have been free if we had used www.saynoto0870.com
Best wishes.:T0 -

I'm still struggling to figure out how this bit is correct.
Yes you get a 4-way LNB on your new dish, but 2 of those 4 go to your new Sky+ box, and the other 2 would only work on a separate Sky account wouldn't they? Seeing as you'll get a new card for your new box, I doubt the old one will work.
Still a great deal though, most people are happy enough to get Sky+ fitted for £49 cost, let alone £30 profit; well done on your part.I didn't do it, nobody saw me do it, you can't prove a thing!
Quidco and Topcashback, £5,687
ShopandScan, £3,470
Tesco Double The Difference, £2,700
Thomson EU261/04 Claim, £1,700
British Airways EU261/04 Claim, EUR12000 -
No you can have multiroom which costs £10 a month, but you can still watch free to air channels without a card, Channel 4 and 5 weren't included in free to air although I'm sure I've read somewhere that you can now tune your box in to receive 40

If we want to have all the same channels as our new Sky+ contract yes we would have to pay an extra £10 per month - but the range of free to air channels means that we'll just have the box for those. I think you can add Ch 4 and 5 manually - lots of sites on the web that explain how to do this.
All the best:beer:0 -
I phoned up and cancelled mine about a month ago and they just said fine and cancelled it. Nobody watched it much when we had it but now it's gone they're complaining!!!If I had known then what I know now . . .
