...has anyone had dealing with this debt company ...from what i have heard littlewoods cataloque group are one of the hardest ones to deal with[/quote]

I started a dmp in Sept and my OH had 2 accounts Kays and Littlewoods that were both passed to NDR. So far so good, NDR have agreed to freeze interest, stop charges and have accepted the offer of payment from Payplan. They seem to have been easier to deal with than the actual companies themselves which surpirsed me

I was told it was rare for collectors to call but I've had 2 call round in the last week and that was after I sent the creditors the above letter which they chose to ignore! One of my creditors is being particularly difficult and not accepting my DMP payments, so sent a collector around for the full amount. Got told in no uncertain terms what he could do and he soon left. I'm female and live on my own so don't let them worry you. They have no legal rights. I'm the the process of now writing complaint letters.

Well done, DiD - Any creditor/dca that 'threatens', or actually sends, a 'doorstep collector' whilst a debtor is in a DMP, from which payments are being made to that creditor/dca, is acting in contravention of the OFT Debt Collection Guidelines http://www.oft.gov.uk/shared_oft/business_leaflets/consumer_credit/oft664.pdf

As such, their actions, or threats, should be reported to the OFT/Trading Standards, who have the power to, ultimately, revoke their credit licences.

In the meantime, for anybody who does actually receive a 'doorstep vist' please be aware that any such 'visitor' has no powers whatsoever, nor should they imply that they have any powers, for example 'seizure of goods or vehicles'. That person has no automatic right of entry to your property, whether peaceful or otherwise, and must leave, immediately when requested.
Other than to establish that you are, indeed, the 'debtor' that they are looking for, any such 'doorstep visit' should be by mutual agreement only.

The OFT Debt Collection Guidelines (above) contain useful information on 'Home Visits' and it is well worth downloading as forewarned is forearmed.
I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

I have made a payment online of the amount I have offered. In my letter Ive given them 14 days to respond or as I told them I shall place a complaint with the financial ombudsman service. Will see what happens.

what is there web adress as i cant find one
  • do not worry about NDR they are not even a licensed debt collector or baillif so if they start sending you threats by emails and letter contact the office of fair trading
