Buying from Zavvi

I have a £10 Virgin Megastores gift voucher which I understand is redeemable against purchases from Zavvi - please inform me if this is not the case. I'm also a student and in possession of a Virgin credit card. All of this plays nicely into my hands for going to buy a new PS3 game this week.
If I ask them about using the Megastores voucher in Zavvi and they say it's acceptable and agree to me using it and then I tell them I'm a student and thus get a 10% discount and then pay on my Virgin CC, activiating a further 10%, could I really get this game for £24 (£40 - £10 - 20% of £30)? If they agree to the prior discounts before I tell them I'm using my Virgin CC, they have no comeback, surely?
Advice is welcome!
