Size of tin?

I'm making a victoria type sponge today (my sons 1st birthday...Ahhhh) using the 4 4 4 2 method but only have 8" tins .....are these too big? if so can I change the amounts to suit?

8" tins are the ones that I use for a 4 4 4 2 mixture
. I would normally get around 12 slices out of a victoria sponge of that size - though it depends on the age/appetite of the guests. Possibly get 16 if they are all littlies/on a diet

Have always used 8 inch tins (was taught this at school in 1970's - so must be true!). Good luck0
