  • I wouldn't get too excited, Tr1002. Yes, the furniture is 50% off the high street price.... but, as it's M&S, Laura Ashley and the like, you're still paying hundreds of pounds for it!

I've looked round one of the outlets and I thought they were dear, for what they are. Basically, the 50% discount covers the lack of choice; e.g, table and six chairs, in dark wood only, you can't opt to have four chairs or a different wood finish as you would, in the store. Or a bed, but no choice on the mattress. The stock is very much 'odds and sods' - don't expect to be able to pick item(s) from a range, they will generally only have one of a kind, be it a dining set, a bedroom suite, or sofas.

Fine if that's what you're looking for and you don't expect to be able to pick and choose, it just didn't seem a good deal to me. I did wonder if what they display are 'returns' or ex-display furniture.

They also charge you to access their stocklist on their webpage, which is a sauce!I looked round one of the places and wasn't impressed. Bit of a junkyard. Holmes Hill Furniture near Lewes is much better. Having said that, I am looking for lots of ash furniture to go in a new house. Not much choice anywhere and sooooo expensive..

If you have a look at their preview page here http://www.trade-secret-club.co.uk/section.php?xSec=42 the prices actually look very expensive. I would imagine that they are also slight seconds otherwise why would companies like M&S and laura Ashley let them sell them?
