Pets at the Vets

My heinz 57 dog is a rescue dog who we've had 15 years. When we got him we agreed to have him 'done',and until 10 months ago, all he'd had was a torn dew claw and his teeth seen to (bad breath). We never considered pet insurance as my sister had her dog insured and had no end of problems with insurance and I think she lost out in the end.
Now Benji's got kidney problems and we've had quite a few trips lately but we look at him as part of the family and he's worth it. At 15+ I think we will probably haved saved more by not having insurance."It is always the best policy to speak the truth-unless, of course, you are an exceptionally good liar." - Jerome K Jerome0 -
I love this idea posted of having a vet piggy bank but what if my dog causes an accident somewhere? Surely that's really what a pet insurance is for? I would happily save for other vet costs but not for legal fees and being sued.0
