I would call them asap. They are much more accomodating if you call them rather than waiting for them to call you. If you speak to some numpty at a call centre though, ask for their manager, as they are more understanding and don't just read off a script.

Hi blue diamond, I used to work with a self employed lady a couple of years back and she ended up with thousands of unpaid tax due to some huge mix up but because she was up front with the tax office and got onto them straightaway to sort it out, they were really helpful!

Will do something this week as I am off work. The accountant has not given us the exact figure so the sooner I know the better I will feel. If you see what I mean!
