They each had to be used on the specific pages that the link to. They can't be used on just anything.

They were both DVD selection - The ones I've posted in the recent weeks have worked, but someone may have pipped you to the post in using them.

No more codes at the moment, but it probably will not be long before they do it again, as the credit crunch is hitting all these places hard.
