New tesco magazine out now

New tesco magazine was being put out in my local store last night. I grabbed a few - each one has £1.45 of vouchers which I'll use in Asda.

  • I really don't think it's a good idea to use these coupons in asda - they are not the kind that can be returned to the handling house - and therefore asda can't claim the money for them . In the end this will only work against us " couponeers " - they could totally change their policy ( as Sainsburys did quite some time ago) - and this would affect all of us . There are plenty of valid coupons about for asda so I would really advise not using these .
  • Why not just use them in tescos? Are they for a specific product or jusy money off?

  • You can use them in tesco - but only as money off the actual product - because it is Tesco that take the loss - not the actual manufacturer. Tesco cannot claim the money back for them - unlike the normal coupon which , if you look at the back , has the instructions for the store to redeem the coupon. Obviously some of the checkout assistants don't realise the difference themselves - but the financial staff will - and could lead to a change in their coupon policy - which we all don't want .
  • Ah thanks. Its a strange world we live in......I mean.......Using Sainsburys vouchers in Tescos, Using Tescos vouchers in Asda....etc :)

  • It is a strange world Tony - the world of using coupons - and a big secret I think! If most of my friends knew what money there was to be saved they would totally freak! But it is a subtle world - and needs to be understood !

I totally agree, have only been using coupons for about a month and have saved a fortune. My family think I'm nuts and many people tut behind me in the supermarket, but to hell with them. If only they knew what they could be saving. If I save on the shopping then I can get myself some treats instead. :j

You can use them in ASDA unless they say that they are only for use in Tesco. Normally these have a Tesco logo on or it states in in the T&C on the coupon. Incidentally, if you have an ASDA specific coupon, then you have to buy the product. Not sure about that in Tesco though

  • Sahara - these are Tesco specific in the magazine - they have caught on ( a year or so back there was a lovely non store specific £2 coupon in the tesco mag !) . In Tesco too you have to buy the producy for the store specific ones !
