Saturday 24/05/08. What small DFW things will you do today????

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.
Mornng everyone and hello to any new posters!
Am off out with friends today for a cheap day out as its my birthday on Monday, so they wanted to take me out. We are hoping to go to Bournemouth for the day, but plan to spend very little money.
-Use weekly bus pass to get to town
-Use railcard to get cheap rail fare
-Split petrol costs between three of us
-Will look for mystery shops
-Will do some surveys later
-Sort through emails
-Email a couple of people regarding references for my counselling course
-Place another matched bet
-Do some housework, putting clothes away instead of sticking them in the wash if they don't need it.
-Pay car tax
-Maybe work on business stuff later
-Fill in enrolment forms for counselling courses
Have a great day everyone.

Mornign All :hello:
Well today I have/will:- caught up on Hypno's thread, and feel motivated to get things going again. Reading these boards is MS:D
- Two mystery shops to do. And in a different town, so I'll visit Aldi for a change
- Sheets on the line (I love the smell of line dried laundry) but washed at 60 - sheets are the only load I do that hot
- chicken carcas being made into stock.
- more gardening to be done
I hope you're all enjoying good weather? (breezy for the sheets, sunny for the gardening)

Hi Everyone,
Not a huge amount going on here but today I have/will...
1) Been to Aldi to buy some supplies that were overpriced elsewhere.
2) Not filled up the car
3) Checked my online banking.
4) Started things off for my final two c.card balance transfers to 0% - I'm having to use a "mule" card and a credit card cheque so its a bit of a pain but it all seems to be working to plan.
5) Not pumped nicotine into my body for - this is day 7.
6) Looking at the best capped deals for Gas and Electric."Life's Too Short To Drink Bad Wine"0 -

Hi Everyone, first time I've posted on here but I'm hoping that by making a list of the little things I have to do it will motivate me to get that little step closer to reducing the debts!
Have already today
- checked for surveys
- registered for freecycle
Things still on the list
- Do the washing soon so that it has a chance to dry outside (apart from work stuff that has to be tumble dried as I work in a hospital!)
- type letter to my australian private health insurance to get them to suspend my account until I return
- transfer part of OH's CC debt onto low balance transfer card
- go to supermarket and buy ingredients to do some OS cooking and freeze a couple of meals
And then relax and enjey day 1 of the long weekend
Hope everyone is having a good one!

Afternoon everyone and what a lovely day it is too.
Today I......
Have checked online banking and transferred OH wages to different account until end of the month
done 3 loads of washing at 30 but used TD for an easy life (I'm not well)
Done a huge pile of ironing and put it away while DS2 was having his nap
made lunch from what I had in the cupboards
Have refrained from eating my chocolate bar for tonight to save me buying another when casualty is on
will raid the fridge for things to make for dinner
Thats all for now. I'm still in my jammies and need a shower but I am using the 'i'm not well' excuse to get out of being called lazy.
My mum called to say she'll watch the boys tonight cos of my,sob sob, horrible, itchy, hot, sore shingles but I said no as OH is off this weekend and has bug gered off to golf ALL day so I offered to stay at hers instead to give him time to bond with his kids......Official DFW nerd no 551 - proud to be dealing with my debts
