Went to Works in Perth yesterday as they are closing the shop (no, really this time :rotfl:) and there was huge basker of this little Skype kits - basically just earpiece that says Skype on it, small CD to install it and a code for 30 minutes free talk for SkypeOut (you know, to landlines and mobiles etc. when people you are calling don't have Skype as well). Each was only 5p!!!
5p for a 30 minutes call abroad is a nice deal
Grabbed a £1 worth (20, which would make 10 hours for a quid) and we will use the for a school fundraiser.
Not sure if it is in other stores as well, but worth checking.

Bought a few myself. unfortunately the offer for the free minutes has long expired on mine and the Skype software is out of date.
Never mind, the cd prompts you to download the latest version from the internet but i wouldnt flog them on the basis of 30 free minutes of airtime.
Still a bit of cheap fun and a good bargain if you want to communicate with friends and family.
Keep trying.........................what else is there to do?

They were giving them away free in Norwich today - mine doesn't have an expiry date on. Bargain.Heard the Shaggy Taxi Wind Up Phone Call?

Great UNTIL you try the codes!
I bought some to give to friends/family as presents so we could talk to everyone. Unfortunately not at 5p I paid the full whack. The codes expired at end of June 2008. Tried putting a couple of codes in & they ALL said expired!
Skype are now owned by the Paypal/Ebay people - meaning that their service is extremely bad to non existant. I had a VERY major hassle trying to get them to honour their codes - I'm still fuming.
Beware - everyone that has these is in for some major hassle - not sure that it's really worth it - even if they were only 5p!!!
UPDATE - This post reminded me that I was unable to put the credit on friends accounts. I assumed (wrongly as it turned out) that they would go onto my Skype account. It was a MAJOR hassle getting them to give me more codes - had to open each & every one & send them the photos etc. etc. Basically jump through hoops. The codes I was given i just tried - NONE of them worked! I'm NOT happy!!!!
