Hi
Does anyone know where I can get a pair of Venitian wooden blinds at a reasonable price?
My windows are 115cm wide but most blinds are made at the standard 120cm measurement.
I've tried a number of websites specialising in made 2 measure blinds and the cheapest price quoted was 175 pounds for a pair measuring (115cmx115cm) and (115cm x 120cm).
Can anyone suggest a site that may be able to top that quote, or am i being financially naive!!
Thanks ;).

Not sure if this will help, but our local free paper often has adverts for made to measure blinds, usually offers like 2 for £100 (with conditions attached). I do not know what kind of blinds they are - roller, venetian, vertical or wahtever. She slashed every one of us0

If it's any help to you, it's quite easy to cut wooden blinds down to fit your window. I did one myself in my previous house, using a jigsaw with a blade for a fine cut, taking off about 3inches either end. I made sure the ends were secured tightly with plenty of brown parcel tape, which also acted as a guide for ensuring the cut was straight & clean. You can then lightly sand the ends & use a bit of wax polish to stain the raw edges if needed.
You need to fit a different blade suited to metal for the header rail, and once the stoppers are put on the ends of the rail, the cut is invisible.
You could always practice first with some slats you need to remove from the length of the blind, which is what I did. But as my blind was for a recessed window it wouldn't have been such a major disaster had I made a slight error, as the ends were not going to be on show. It turned out pretty good though. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
A company called Cotswold Blinds do made to measure.. they have a (crappy) website at https://www.cotsworldblinds.co.uk where you can contact them..
I'm currently working on their new website but I must add I won't be gaining anything from plugging them0 -
Hi there
I used a company based in Northern Ireland called Contour Blinds, and they were very good at made-to-measure stuff. I had three venetians for under £200, and six roller for under £250 made.
Materials are good, but not amazing (but you probably wouldn't expect it at that price).
Think the link is https://www.contourblinds.co.uk, but if not, a quick search with Google should sort you out.CarQuake / Ergo Digital0 -
Have you tried https://www.web-blinds.com?
I have just put in your measurements, and the price for a wooden venetian is £133.00.
I have used them before and they are very good.Only 5% of those who can give blood, actually do!

thanks for you suggestions, but so far no-one can beat the original quote I got.
The 133.00 quote from web-blinds.com was for one blind (my orginial quote were for two!!) but thanks frizz_head!!
I'm still gonna dig around because I don't need them until christmas.
Thanks0
