Quickie question

Got home from work to find a hand delivered card posted through my door from my friends at Barclaycard  saying that a debt collector had called round today and will call again. I'm not overly worried about his visit as I am on a DMP and BC are refusing to play nicely. I CCA'd them a while ago and have heard nothing from them so they will shortly be committing an offence as the 30 days will soon be up. They've also chosen to ignore every letter I've sent them - telephone harrassment letters, etc, etc and I know that doorstep collectors have no legal rights and can't take my stuff etc, so I will tell him to bog off!
My question is - does anybody know when debt collectors can call? Can they visit at weekends or in the evenings?
Thanks

Not sure on the door stepping bit, but they are not allowed to phone at unreasonable times so surely there are more rules for the callers?

But I'll bump your post for someone who knows the answer. You won't want to worry over the weekend.0 -
I would send them this letter, also if you do receive any unexpected visits hand the same letter to them:
Please be advised that I am only prepared to communicate with XXXXXXXXX in writing. OFT rules and regulations clearly state that you can only visit me at my home if you make an appointment and I have no wish to make an appointment with you.
There is only an implied license under English Common Law for people to be able to visit me on my property without express permission; e.g. the postman and people asking for directions etc (Armstrong v. Sheppard and Short Ltd [1959] 2 Q.B. per Lord Evershed M.R.).
Therefore take note that I revoke license under Common Law for you, or your representatives, to visit me at my property and if you persist in sending "doorstep callers" to my home, you will be reported for harassment and be liable for damages for a tort of trespass.
You would also be liable for conspiring in a tort of trespass by acting in defiance of my instructions and sending someone to visit me nevertheless.
Should it be necessary, I will obtain an injunctionClick here for Martins (MSE) advice on who to contact with Debt Issues - YOU HAVE NO REASON TO USE A FEE PAYING DEBT MANAGEMENT COMPANY- THEY CANNOT DO ANYMORE FOR YOU THAN THOSE LISTED IN MY LINK ABOVE.
All information given by myself is offered informally and without prejudice - if in doubt seek help from a qualified and insured professional0 -
Thanks for your responses. I will type the letter up and send it off and keep a copy if they turn up.Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free
