Credit affected by joint tenant?

Hello, I'm not sure if this is the right place or method to ask this question, so please bear with me.......

If someone is a joint tenant of a flat, (not in a relationship, purely flat mates)
and one pays bills on time and the other has people knocking on the door for payment, how does that affect the "good" person's credit rating?

Are they financial associates for the purpose of credit reports?

And if they do impact on each others rating or score how can this be resolved?

If the "good" one moves out, does the financial association end then, or can it continue to be on his credit record?
Sorry it is so many questions but really need to know. Thank you.

I am certain that unless you have any shared link such as a bank account or loan account together then your history will remain completely separate when any searches are performed on either of you. I told this by CAB before Christmas when my sister offered to let me move in to her home because I have a terrible credit history at present with lots of defaults and black marks of various kinds and I had to check that this would not impact on her or her husband and effect their credit worthiness if I was to live at their address.

the search is on the person, not the address. As long as you have no joint financial arrangments, then you are classed completely separately for the purposes of a credit search.

Thank you, the two involved don't have any shared accounts at all. But one has worries about the bailiffs, since they share a flat but have seperate bedrooms & sitting rooms, just share kitchen (each with own fridges & washers) and bathroom, in case the bailiffs would just take items from all of the flat?

Hope your situation improves soon, good luck.
