How long does a default stay on a credit report for? Does it go once I have settled the balance?

hi there. in my experience unfortunately not, they stay on for the 6 years!

I think (maybe wrong) that its on there for 6 years from the date defaulted. I've still got one on mine that has been fully settled, but 2 years to go before it's removed.:rotfl:I'm Cosmo, Cosmo Kramer! :rotfl:0

The default will show for 6 years unfortunately. When you have settled it will show as settled on the month that you settled (!) but the default on the preceding months will still be there. Hope that helps
