New Charges for Repayments

Hi, sorry if this is a bit newbie. I've got a C&G tracker which I've been making extra payments on whenever I could for the past few years (currently should be gone in about 4.5 years). I just made a capital repayment (which have always been free, that was one reason I chose the mortgage) but I've had notification that there is now a £10 handling charge (note not a repayment penalty, a handling charge for the cheque) for every repayment. This was apparently in the small print of my last statement.
This has annoyed me hugely and I wanted to ask the Fonts of all Knowledge if it's a legit charge.
All the best
Ian

Hi
I would have thought that if you have been notified of a variation in your T&C's then it is perfectly legitimate to charge you. I guess the best way round is to wait until you have saved up a bit in a high interest account and then make the overpayment rather than do it little bits at a time.
