bizarre problem with welcome finance

Hi,
New to this forum and thought I'd ask on here, hopefully to see if anyone else who decided to use this company has experienced the same problems I have...
To cut a (very) long story short, I applied for a small loan of £1000 with Welcome Finance.. and after reading a few posts on here... decided to go for it without the uneccessary add ons... the APR was stupid but i have a CCJ and bad credit so for £50 a month roughly I thought it'd help me improve my score and settle a few outstanding debts with family etc. and help me towards my new flat...
I sent my form and ID (as requested original wage slip and bank statement) to them on 13th April ... waited paitently .. and eventually.. around the 9th May due to a "backlog", my form was processed.. only to be advised that my ID was now out of date!
Not to worry I was told, because of the backlog they were using a bit of common sense as it wasn't my fault my details were returned late..and WF should be paying out within 4-5 working days....
I called them approx a week later as no payout and no letter to confirm payout (as was promised) and was advised again my ID was out of date..specifically proof of address (bank statement) .. they then advised me (and on 3 subsequent phone calls to them due to there being "no update from the applications team") that it was ok as they accept proof of address from within the last 90 days (the statement was dated 24th March 2008)
I was told to leave it around 3 or 4 days as a manager would be e-mailed to get payment made as quickly as possible...only to be told when i made the follow up call that they only accept proof of address from THIRTY days NOT 90!!
Again.. e-mails were sent as they understood the backlog had stalled the application process...and to call back in 2 days... whch I did... only to be told (and the 2 other times I called) that there was no response... I was then asked i needed a new proof of income as my wage slip was out of date... Suffice to say I've cancelled the application.. as it's pretty obvious everything would be out of date as they took so god damn long to process everything due to this "backlog"
They then said they would fast track the application if I sent my original driving licence to them....meaning they had a wage slip, bank statement AND original driving licence... I know they're supposed to be regulated by the FSA.. but this all seemed dodgy to me and asked for them to send all my details back...
Sorry for going on here.. but has anyone any advice or has anyone had similar issues with them? I have bad credit and a I feel my only help has now been taken away from me!!
thanks in advance!

I have a loan with these people and all I can say is that they are a nasty nasty company to deal with and not very understanding when someone has fallen behind due to loss of job/divorce. I'm sure you can find a company that will help you but also know what it means to have good customer services. Stay well clear is my advice!!!0
