ING Direct Mortgage?

I know ING has constantly been slated for giving savers poor saving rates and not passing on any rate increases and cutting rates as soon as BOE announces them but that is a different disucssion.

Our fixed rate mortgage is coming to an end on 30.06 and ING have a 2 year fixed @ 5.99% with a product fee of £499. This includes free legal and valuation. Now I have been looking for a remortage for a few weeks now and this seems like an excellent deal given the current climate.

Would like to know if anyone has had experience with an ING mortgage? Is there a better deal out there that you may have seen?

Thanks

Not a bad deal, really depends what your preferences are. I.e. you can get lower rates than that quite easily elsewhere, e.g. HSBC ratematcher, albeit with a higher fee.

I've had a flexible mortgage with them for over a year (rate currently 5.89%) and have had no problems. It's really good to see the account online and check what's going on.

My current rate is 4.49%, where can I go for a rate closer to that and how much in fees am I looking at?

    Hi

Try HSBC's website for details of their rate matcher. They have a calculator on there where you can play around with the interest rate and resulting fees.

The lowest rate they will do is 4.54% but the fees for this rate are likely to be very high. But they will do lower fees for a higher rate. I got 5.09% with £999 fee on a £81k mortgage.
