Question about defaults

Do defaults stay on your credit file for 6 years from the date they were put on or 6 years from the date that they are settled?

Thanks in advance

The Default notice would have been served under the Consumer Credit Act 1974. Your file will show the date that you broke the relevant term of the credit agreement.
