I would like 2 reduce the cost of virgin package...

Hiya, Sure I'm on the wrong board for this?? But i want to reduce the cost of my virgin tv,bb and phone its costing around £60+ a month including calls (even though i get free calls?!) i currently have the xl tv , no sports etc, bb and free calls. I've seen on the boards before how people reduce their bills but can't seem to find it now? Do i just threaten to leave or do my homework and say i'm going to move to such and such as its cheaper? Hopeless at this kind of thing so any help would be great.

Thank you x

If you're not tied into a contract with them then it's definitely worth phoning to try to get it reduced - I have done this more than once with Virgin and every time they have given me a better deal! :D Their customer service isn't that great the rest of the time, but threaten to leave and they will do their level best to keep you!!

    I would recommend:

    1. Do your homework - find out what bundles and deals other companies are offering so you have some idea of prices to back up what you're saying. This includes looking at the deals Virgin are offering to new customers, so you can ask for something similar.

    2. Decide what services are most important to you - would you be prepared to lose a few tv channels if it meant a better deal? Do you need all those free calls? You can use this to your advantage ("I'm paying for a deal with free calls I never use," "there are lots of channels I don't watch");)

    3. Mean it when you threaten to leave! You can always back out later with an "I'll have to think about it and call back". If the person you're talking to isn't much help, ask to be put through to the disconnections department - this is really the sales department in disguise, where they have the authority to offer you much better deals.

    4. Lastly, keep a record of who you've spoken to and the deal you've been offered, because if there's one thing Virgin are good at it's messing up the bills! If you have a record of everything, it's easier to sort out any overcharges later.

Hope that helps a bit, good luck!

I would definatley look into what the sky package closest to what you have costs as they are more likley to take you cancellation serious if you have figures to compare, the first time they didnt take me seriously as i didnt have sky figures but when i called back they matched sky;) which is good as sky do the free broadband so you should be able to cut some of the cost.
The more i save the more i can spend:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
