Freezing cider?

Just got this by email:
Near the end of a bottle of wine but don't fancy finishing it? Pour into an ice cube tray and put it in the freezer (red or white wine is fine). Then add a cube or two when you next cook pasta sauce, gravy, soup, risotto etc for a bit of extra flavour!
(from https://www.savecashsaveplanet.org)
Now I can't stand wine: but I do sometimes cook with cider. Does anyone know whether I could freeze the unused cider for the next cooking session, or will it not taste right because its fizzy?
Ta!

It freezes perfectly, the fizz goes but that's OK you still get the taste Dame Delia says if you can't afford /don't have any wine for a recipe then use dry cider.0

You could always get some ice lolly moulds (Pound Shop) and make your own cider lollies. We used to get these from the ice cream van when I was... ooh about 40 years ago
and they were lovely, and the cheapest thing they sold - 3d I think (slightly over 1p in today's money, probably about 40p in real terms  ).
I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe

Ohhhh I remember those cider lollies :j
Knock off about 10 years... and I was queueing up at the ice cream van to buy them, about 5p each I think they were
Which reminds me, we used to have a local dairy called Dixons and they produced the best ice cream ever!!!! We'd always wait until one of their vans came around (used to be 2-3 different ones a day!) before buying our cornets "An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"
