50% off Hair cut

In October's Family Circle, there's a promotion by the Hair Group for you to have 50% off a hair cut/ colour/ treatment at one of their branches. You can only use 1 voucher in 12 months though.

I had my last haircut done through the Hair Group when ELC was doing a promotion, and got mine done for free! I phoned up the Hair Group with my voucher code, and a week later, a local hairdresser's phoned up and made an appointment for me to visit.

It was a L'oral salon, and I had a very chic, very professional haircut that I absolutely love! The value of my coupon was supposed to be up to £25 and my haircut was supposed to be £32.50, but in the end, the hairdresser's gave it to me for free!

Well worth trying.

  • What is the family circle?

Sounds fab really, the only people I would trust with my hair are Tony and Guy... my hair can look like sidejoe bob's if not done preperly!

  • It's a magazine that you can normally find near the check-out in Sainsbury's. Funnily enough, I couldn't find it elsewhere....

I'm sure it's not Sainsbury's though as they have their own in-store mag.

If you do a search on the hair group, you may have an idea of how close their members are to your locality.

Family Circle is now a mainstream magazine and you can get it on the regular news-stands - in Sainsbury, Tesco, WHSmith etc.

I had a hair deal like that earlier in the year. Make sure when you get your appointment that it is not with a trainee. No offence to trainees - everyone has to learn - , but he cut my hair against the grain (ouch). When it came to the colour, i did of changing my day job, as i'm doing not bad with boots' own brand semiperm colours!
  • Oh dear! Sorry to hear of your bad experience. I was lucky. I got one of the two who work there regularly. Make sure you ask for a weekday, as I would have thought that you would get the regular hairdressers then.

My hairdresser spent about an hour on my hair cut, including wash and blowdry. : )

You can get cheap haircuts at the local college, I had mine shampooed and cut yest for £2, it gets checked by the teacher, so hopefully there should be no mishaps.

I too went to the local college last week. Colour, cut and blow dry £10. As they were year 2 students and the beginning of the year the teacher does the haircut showing them etc. As the students are keen you get a lovely head massage and all the latest lotions and potions free. Kids wash, cut and blow dry is £3.50 :)

Also if you go for the mature student class a lot are qualified hairdressers who have been SAHM and want to update their skills before returning to work.

    Anyway back to the thread:
I did wonder when I saw the thread title 50% off hair cuts if you had to have 1/2 your hair cut off or just one side :rotfl:

  • haha . That reminds me of an advert I once saw on TV. Was it about Travelodge? The woman asking the man to get up now and leave the room as he had only paid half the price. Of course Travelodge were saying that they were NOT like that... : )
  • Hi,
Another way to save on hair dressing costs, most salon's offer reduced rates to a trainee's model, just ask in the salon if they require models.

I am a trainee hairdresser in a top Glasgow West end salon. My salon offers bargain prices to people willing to assist in my training and development.

Currently my models can get a wash and blow dry for free or colour for £15.
