Rounder, Broker, Slower

Well guys I just spent the last 20 mins writing out a very long very detailed and i must admit what I thougth was quite funny post. But I havent been on the boards since last year and I think I hit the wrong button at the end and instead of posting it deleted.

Anyway you will be delighted to know Im not going to go throught the whole thing again as it was totally exhausting and frankly Im boring myself with my jibbering on like at 97 year old in an arm chair talking about "In my day". OK Im still jibbering lets start again shall we.

Hi I'm back I was on the boards last year and you fabulous people helped me amazingly get debt free in about 9 months but since January of this year my life has been turned up on its behind and I am now wait for it

£4000 in debt
2 Stone heavier
unemployed
and slowly losing my marbles

Now I know that might not seem like alot but to rack up that kind of debt in 5 months is incredible. Granted I have not been working since Janaury, I have two operation and was unable to. Since then I have not been able to find a job in my feild damn credit crunch and Im sinking rapidly, waving my little hands (well tubby little fingers actually lets not lie here) as i sink.

I started to temp last friday - Ill get into that in a bit - you have no idea what kind of madness is goinging on
Im sure you are intrigued to find out .

But ok icka stay with us - see what happens when you are off for months watchig Jeremy Kyle, your entire brain goes to mush,

In the next 7 weeks I have two weddings both abroad, two best mates 30th birthdays, OH's birthday (which is a 4 day event), Mum and bro's bdays............it just does not end................................

So dear people all I want you to do for me in 8 weeks is.............

Help me lose two stone
Help me find £4000 for college fees in September
Help me pay of my £4000 over draft
Come up with possibly another £2000 for gifts etc
Oh and if you could throw Gordon Ramsey in there for even an hour I would love you forever...... just don't tell bf........

xxxx thank you so much

as always

Yours

Icka

    Hi Icka

    Welcome back.

First we need to see how you can make a dent in the overdraft and start saving, so could you post up a new SOA? There's now a calculator that helps you do this.
    http://www.makesenseofcards.com/soacalc.html

It sounds like you need to keep a spending giary to see where you are splashing the cash. Need to put a stop to that extra spending and if you walk to the shops or work instead of getting the bus, if you're close enough, the excercise will hopefully shift some of the wweight and give you a bit more energy. (eventually)

Don't know if you were previously a tart (or still are) but virgin money currently has a 0% BT offer for 15 months. As it is a MBNA card, you can transfer to either another CC or to your current account. I would do the latter and pay off your overdraft. There will be a 3% BT fee and minimum payments are 3% 1st month then £25 for each subsequent month. This should hopefully allow you enough space to sort out any shortfall if you don't get the limit required.

Have you applied for credit recently? Do you think you'll have more that 3 credit searches in the last 6 months? You may be able to chack on experian for free, but if you've already used it once, then you won't be able to (for free).
After falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91

    Dad Gift 6k ¦ Savings & Inv Tst: £2,500
    Loan 10k: £0 ¦ Dad 5.5k: £2,270 ¦ LTSB: £0 ¦ RBS: £0 ¦ Virgin £0 ¦ Egg £0

    Total Owed: £2,270 (+6k) 11/08/2011

    Hello stranger, welcome back.

What is it about unemployment and getting fat? I too have put on 2 stone but I haven't been watching Jeremy Kyle (said, as if that would make any difference).

Can you not shift the £4K credit card bill across to a 0% interest card? It might at least help.

There is no way that you are going to lose 2 stone in a matter of weeks unless you follow Posh Spice's silly diet - 1 small lettuce leaf a week along with several gallons of water:eek: To get toned up (look who is calling the kettle black??) go for long walks and do a bit of exercise - cut out the stodge.

No need to spend £2K on presents though, shop with various sites such as Pigsback and Quidco - you get money back with them (not advocating that you are going to spend spend spend). Look in charity shops for suitable presents (you would be surprised at what you find, good stuff can even be found on freecycle). Sort out your junk and get yourself to a carboot sale or better still sell it on ebay.

    Hope this helps?

Thanks Horace and George much appreciated.

Well I payed off my credit cards at Christmas and cut them up and was so proud, it actually was amazing how proud I actually was. But then when I got into trouble in the new year I tried to get a new card and I was refused point blank. They basically laughed at me.

    Out goings

    Per Month

    Rent: £650
Light/heat/Gas £150 for two months which is about £75
    Loan £ 220 per month
    Car insurance £75 per month
Car Tax £30 per month (I think I really have no idea though)
    Food £150 per month
    Phone £70 per month
    internet £20 per month
    Petrol £60 per month

clothes - Im not buying any more becuase I am refusing point blank to go up another dress size so two things can either happen - I lose weight or I burst out either way Im not spending another penny on clothes until I shift the weight.

I am temping at the moment 13 KM away   from home and there is no direct public transport - so I have to drive, Parking luckily is free
Internet here is free, well Im using it anyway, Im trying to find "a real job" but its proving more and more difficult.

I know it will be a slog but we can do it -

Drink more water I hear you say

And if I can't have Gordon, I will settle for Bear Grylls now there is a man I would lose weight for :T :T :T :T :T

Good Luck! You'll probably find the weight starts dropping off pretty quickly once you get back to work (if I'm at home all I do is stuff my face, really don't know why:confused:), just one thing though...GORDON RAMSEY???? Really????
