This year's 'Buy Nothing Day' is on Saturday 27th November 2004.

    Same link as before.

Is this a bit too close to Christmas to be achievable?!

Me thinks Buy Nothing Day should be made into an MSE event!

27 November sounds as good a day as any. Besides, canny MSE-ers would have done all their Christmas shopping already during the sales earlier on in the year ;) According to my Jamie Oliver calendar (which I buy every year at half price in January), this date falls on a Saturday this year and is also Jools Oliver's birthday. I bet she shops a lot, though!
