I really think the key to a good relationship is to have the same attitude to finances, it is really hard for a saver to cope with a spender especially if the spender is jeopardising the saver's future.
The only info you get on a credit search is your own, any joint debts ( mortgage etc) will show and there will be a note of financial connection ( There is probably a technical term for this but it escapes me at the moment)
A couple of years ago when my DH applied for a credit report ( Experian or Equifax) he could get his info my info, the people who lived here before and the new people in the house we used to live in plus each of our ex partners info. Now he just gets his own details, with our mortgage account showing as joint, (they have mortgage account info going back for over 10 years) there is no info about my sole accounts etc.0 -
My husband sent off to Experian for his credit details.
My loan, nothing to do with him at all, in my name only, came to him with full details.
Oh! and how he's loving it.!!!!!!!!
Sent email to Experian on 22/09/05 asking why?, as since Nov. 2004 details should not be disclosed on other family members.
They have not found the manners to reply,as yet, so I have today, sent another email,
entitled" Do you reply to emails or just ignore them?"
So the answer to the original O.P. is-- send for your own credit history-- chances are your other half's will be included also.0
