I have just done a smart search om moneysupermarket and they give me a good credit rating, i went to check my file and i git an excellent rating, if these two reports are that good then why have i been knocked back by vanquis and monument cards?

anyone have any suggestions?

thanks

IIRC Checkmyfile use callcredit - the smallest of the CRA's.

I'd suggest getting a copy of your Experian & Equifax files as callcredit had almost nothing on file for me & what they did have was out of date. The 2 larger ones were much more accurate.

Smartsearch on moneysupermarket is pretty naff IMO....... I've got an excellent rating on there.... but they don't know how much I earn, and they don't know how much money I owe.

How on earth can they say I've an excellent rating without knowing these pretty crucial bits of information? I like to use it to get a really vauge idea, it's far from 'gospel'

Are you on electoral roll? What's your employment status? Do you have adverse credit history?
